Jade waited at the bus stop outside the apartment building for a while. It was supposed to be there about 10 minutes ago, but it was late once again. Public transportation always seemed to be late whenever she used it. The fact that she wasn't all that patient didn't help, either. Just as she was about to give up and walk, the bus finally showed up. "Took you long enough." She said as she got on, scanning her pass as she did so. As she went to find a seat, she heard a familiar voice calling out to her. "Over here, Jade." It was her friend Stephanie. They had both known each other since they were kids, and ever since then they'd been pretty close. "I thought you were going to stay in the apartment today." Stephanie said. "Let me guess. It was your mom's boyfriend again, wasn't it?" "You got that right." Jade said. "I hope she dumps that asshole soon." The bus made several more stops before driving past an abandoned hotel. That place had an eerie feel to it that Jade just couldn't shake off. It made her shudder every single time she saw it. "That building there creeps me out a little. I get the chills every time I go by it." "I heard they're planning on demolishing it." Stephanie said. "I'm 90% sure that place is haunted. If people start seeing ghosts around here after they do that, I wouldn't be surprised." They were talking loud enough that other people on the bus could easily overhear them. Jade didn't really care who decided to listen in. She didn't know anyone on this bus besides Stephanie, so she didn't care what any of these people thought about her.
