Or we could all stop being sticklers for accurate sword science which is fun and all I love it as much as the next person and just throw it down under artistic license and the so called "rule of cool". Because if such a thing did not exist then we could not have the fun mental image of a tank jumping a drawbridge or a man jumping from a fortress and onto the back of a dragon to sever its wing even though normally beside the whole dragon thing two fast moving objects hitting into one another would not be fun. Or we could just go with the best answer to any problem that has ever been presented in any form of fiction be in literary or other. "A Wizard did it." The wizard always did it.
