[/quote] No. Just stared with dead eyes, looking for sleeping people to steal from and/or murder. c: I reckon he was looking for unlocked carriages to nick stuff from; I remember talking to the travel nurse when I got my Hep A jab and he was talking about some guy he knew who'd gone on the trans-Siberian railway and had literally everything he had with him stolen on the first night. They keep an eye out for rich young clueless middle-class travellers like us. I genuinely wasn't scared at any point; I think my friends were. They made several comments along the lines of "this isn't nearly as third-world as I thought", but thing is they were only half-joking. They originally said they wouldn't go out past dark in Sofia. Either way, yes, I am much enlightened and enrichened for my travels.
