Well then [i]don't[/i] link them to the DSA! Just make them a normal person that got powers, and now has worked up the courage to try and join the League. They don't need to be a super special snowflake; just make them normal. Although, in my experience, normal people are easier to make, and harder to write for. You have to think about what they'd say a bit more than someone with an exaggerated personality: an exaggerated personality will always have an exaggerated reaction, but someone with less defined traits is a bit more subtle..

Not that there's anything wrong with an exaggerated personality. They're a riot :)
