Blizzard rumbled in response and flew on in silence. He worried that Ava would grow ill from this cold as her mother had- he hoped not that the flight was peaceful… but rather that it was short. A few hours more of flying and the sun was beginning to rise, he scanned the sea for the flicker of fish in first light. A pod of seashockers must have been nearby because several fish were flipping up from the surface, a whole school trying to speed away from the dragons and running out of sea. Blizzard dived in sharply, catching a couple in his mouth as the fish somersaulted in the air. He rose again swallowing his prize with a content purr. They flew on- covering miles in little time at all. The ocean was vast and silent and gradually Blizzard began to drift lower once more, seeking a place to land. The ocean shifted beneath them and startled him from his search causing him to lurch sharply, body tipping as several massive thunder drums buckled up from the sea, filling their huge bodies with air. He picked up the pace and could not imagine how small Ava must feel in comparison to those beasts.
