We could maybe take a page from another RP I was a part of pre-RPGuild shut down and try to make story arcs for each character, arcs which we could then have tie in and eventually lead up to the big finale, whatever that will be. Perhaps on top of not wanting to see everything go up in flames, each character could either undergo a transformation of sorts (be it for better or worse), or something specific that stands in their way of ending the turmoil, be it an enemy, and old deal that they forgot about/tried to get out of that has to be settled, or there's simply some dickish guy that doesn't want to see the group succeed and happens to have the resources to seriously ruin their day because "lolfuckyall".
