My grandad was in World War II as a plane technician. Never really spoke to him much though, can't remember much about him cause I was young. I think young kids don't realise that their parents and grandparents were people just like them at that age. Like. Grandpas were told stories by their grandpas and they went to see their grandpa at Christmas and just think they're all just 'mum' 'dad' 'grandpa' 'grandma' and that there was way more to learn about them than just 'hey you helped make my dad who helped make me, cool!' I certainly thought that when I was a kid.
