Weapons were carried over, along with vehicles, mechs, and so on. Just no factories or infrastructure. You had enough supplies to set up camp and begin to build your own infrastructure or repair and use old earth infrastructure and factories.

This of course, has limits. No space ships and the like, though things with limited space ability are allowed. Buildings being carried over are also a no.
