Looks like I'll be needing to do good research to make a convincing corsair. What short stories from Arabian nights do you recommend I read? I have a collection of stories from Arabian nights due to Barnes and noble in my area having a sale that gave me access to all sorts of classical books including Arabian nights. I wanna copy the book's prose for this RP but wanna read up on a Barbary pirate.

They seem like a powerful force as even when Europe became a dominant naval force barbary pirates continued being a problem until france straight up took over algeria in the 19th century.

And aaron, that map is of OTL. Knowing your map making stills I bet you can make a version of that map for this very deviant timeline. I'll probably have to make some alternate history myself when the OOC comes up, which means I got research cut out for me. Issue is I have yet o find good sources on barbary pirates for free. May need to get a eBook.
