Nathaniel stood where he was, thinking about what to do. He could turn back right now, content with the fact that he had just met with what was likely a human's first legitimate encounter with an extraterrestrial being, or he could board the ship and go on an adventure of a lifetime. As he did so the alien seemed to be struggling with the small crowd that was attempting to ask her several different questions at the same time. A moment later, however, the alien turned towards all of them. "If you're ready, we should leave now." With that, the alien started walking towards its ship. Nathaniel panicked slightly as various worries came to mind. What if something would happen, and he wouldn't be able to return? What if... He composed himself, as valid as these concerns seemed to be, he could not pass up an opportunity like this. He followed behind the others, and as the door to the alien's starship closed behind him, he took one last look back at the tennis courts. He spotted a handful of people who chose to stay behind, likely stopped by the same worries that he had faced a moment ago. Nathaniel turned back around and followed the group of people following the alien. After a short walk, the sleek metal hallways opened up to what Nathaniel assumed was an observation deck. He assumed that they hadn't left Earth yet, but the huge domed ceiling of the observation deck offered an impressive view of some area of space. While the design of the room was like nothing he had seen on Earth, it seemed to be rather accommodating for humanoid lifeforms, judging from the shape of the seating arrangements scattered around the place. After taking another look around the place, he took a seat near the others. The alien addressed something named "Connector," which seemed to be the name of the ship they were on, and despite its request to bring them into Earth orbit, he didn't feel any of the signs associated with something rising off the ground, like you would on a plane. Before he could think about that too much, the alien asked them to introduce themselves. After the others finished talking, Nathaniel finally introduced himself to the group of people on the ship. "I'm Nathaniel, a mathematician who just recently finished his master's degree. You may call me Nathan if you wish." He turned towards Qyx, "You say space is dangerous, but it's not like there's anything out there to get us, right?"
