A polyp is a completely sedentary but mildly intelligent plant-like organism. It grows from a bulb with eyes. Its mycelium and twiggy appendages have limited movement but are not strong enough to shift its weight. A polyp, though immobile, is useful in that it can grow necessary items using its body, such as berry-like pustules for food, or firm fibrous shapes to use as tools. Anything a polyp produces requires an adequate supply of water and nutrients in the soil (slowly depleted over time). Giving a polyp access to more advanced nutrients (say, replanting it on a vein of iron ore or in a magic grove) will allow it to produce more advanced items. The speed at which a polyp will produce a given item depends on level.
