You do know that Trico has already made eye contact with Laura; for better or worse, you two are partners now, even if you hate eachother's guts. Leave her behind and even if she succeeds without you, you're both without a team, which is the only way you'd past the test. No team means you don't past. So maybe it would be within Trico's character to want nothing to do with Laura as a person, but that just means that he'll fail because of his own thoughts about someone.
