Alright it's here! I'm nopt entirely satisfied, so I may edit it a bit...but this'll be the jist of it :)

Personality: Mellie is easy going and relaxed. She has been a successful teacher, after doing her time working in a cafe right after she graduated college, and has enjoyed teaching the older elementary grades for the past 8 years. She’s a passionate gardener, and helped sponsor a school garden program that was a huge success in her suburban school. In her personal life she is calm and steady, the one her friends call when they need a hand with something, solid advice, or a shoulder to cry on. When it comes to making new friends she’s friendly and welcoming...but also cautious as she’s made friends with one too many mothers who wanted a sitter more than a friend. Despite not having found the right time she has a strong mothering instinct, and has always dreamed of a family of her own.
She does tend to be wary of change, but once she accepts it she dives in whole-heartedly.

History: Mellie’s parents were immigrants, via the long way. Her grandparents moved from Africa to France, and then her parents moved to Canada shortly after they married. They started in Quebec, but soon moved to Alberta, where there were more jobs. Her family moved quite a bit when she was young, but when Mellie was old enough to live on her own she settled in one place and has built her life in a small town.
Now, she owns her own small home with a lovely garden, and shares her life with the neighbourhood stray cats.
Her life might not be exciting, but she feels she’s been lucky, and is satisfied overall.

Personality: To be truthful he is a bit grumpy, he raised many clutches of chicks with his mate and now has little tolerance for younglings left. He has been lonely for a few months since his mate didn’t survive the flight to their wintering grounds, and has been a bit listless. He did migrate back north, but has been less enthusiastic about eating than usual.

History: This little male owl has lived a great owl-life. His mate initially chose a nesting site near many other couples and they enjoyed the company and warnings offered by living in a group. The last year though, they had to find a new nesting burrow and wound up alone. 7 of their 9 chicks survived, but the little male’s mate didn’t survive the migrations south that year. He has been alone since and had almost been convinced by a flirty young female to take another mate before he began to feel the need to move west.
