-Since dragon magic is so powerful, it could easily be used to make weapons for human benefit (course this requires having a dragon and tormenting it to drain it's magical energy) to create a powerful technological magi weapon.

And make the hunt for dragons easier. I saw something like the magic being harness into a small object that then is used a fuel for those weapons. But the fuel could last only little limited time. Making them wish to get more financially support so their machines could collect more magic. Of course the process of draining magic would ultimately kill the dragon at one moment. It would depend on the age of the dragon how long they last. But a dead dragon is still useful in all sort of ways.

That quite a good idea it can go along if the people who plan the overthrow, promising unlimited money for the research to the hunters for some weapon assistance.
