Dani put aside his book and flashlight as the sun came up. New day, and along with it, probably some happenings of interest ahead. [b]Liam stirred beside him, then opened her eyes.*[/b]
"Good morning!" Dani said cheerily as he laid back on the sand and looked up at the colorful sky. He always preferred sunrises to sunsets. Besides the fact that it meant day instead of night, he just enjoyed the soft colors like peach and pink over the sharper colors like purple and blue.

A sea gull flew by over their heads as it called out lazily. The whole morning just blurted out "Nice and easy and slow." The day was going to be at [i]least[/i] as good as the previous one. Chances are, it was going to be better.

Matt mumbled and forced his eyes open. As he looked around, he remembered where he was. His hand tapped the button on top of the alarm clock, and the beeping stopped.

Matt opened his eyes again. He glanced over at the clock. The alarm didn't [i]usually[/i] sound nice. The clock stared blankly back at him. The music sounded like it was coming from outside.

Matt stretched and slid out of the bed, ran quickly through his usual morning needs such as teeth brushing and hair combing, then stepped out the door. He looked a few beach huts down to see Carmen hanging out atop a roof, playing a trumpet without a care in the world.

Matt waved at her just as Lily came out the building Carmen was perched upon. They were probably roommates.
"Hey guys!" he said, jogging over to them.
