So since Mike is gonna just do researching from the Pseudospace book not gonna bother to write up a post for it. (Ill just put something here so you can decided what to do with your Afternoon after that, as reading from that book would probably take just a couple of your Morning Actions instead of all of them). 

Reading: 9 - 23 Knowledge = -14

Yea, not that hard of a read. Mike would probably skim past a bunch of the useless parts and it isn't even that big of a book (probably around 50 - 100 pages)

Mike mostly learns that using various essences or energies of whether it be monsters or magic a person knows can change a Pseudospace. (Like those Imp Parts or even the Soul Gems)

That, or a very powerful will could be used to create a different kind of Pseudospace (wouldn't have monsters in it, but maybe a special affect or so). 

The most Mike would get from this book is that he probably could have either just asked someone or grind the ID Create and Escape Skills. Then he could have spent his money on something else.
