Wow that sounds terrible and painful. I've got an autoimmune disease. Basically my antibodies are attacking my platelets, which is what clot your blood. An average person has about 150 to 200 thousand platelets. I'm lucky if I have 40 thousand. So I bleed a lot more than the average person. It isn't life threatening unless I hit my head too hard in which case I'll bleed to death internally before help can even get there. Its scary because the antibodies could start attacking something more important like one of my other organs. But its pretty rare for that to actually happen, so yeah. Let's hope it doesn't. I'm not sure if a spleen transplant would cure that. They haven't even given me that option. Just removing my spleen, which would be bad because I work with children. Or steroids, which would only improve things not fix it.
