"She's lovely, I have a room which would suit its needs, yes." Maverick performed an ecstatic fist pump at her response. He then felt eyes homing in on the back of his cranium and he craned his neck around to survey the lifeforms standing around him, and the world he would leave behind. His gaze was studious and composed as he analyzed them. None of them, in his opinion, were as remarkable as the alien in their midst. Or even his darling sinsemilla Sydney. Tsk he mentally scoffed. "If you're ready, we should leave now." At her mention of departure he took one deep gulp of air, that human infested smog that permeated off of the New York city concrete cooled by the morning chill, and a resolute smile spread across his face. Then he turned forward to follow Qyx up to her ship while admiring its design as well as the rest of her "form". Maverick deviously chuckled as he ambled along closely behind. Maverick followed the alien as she beckoned the group onto the ship. His silence was admiration as the interior of the ship unfolded into his view. Space was awaiting as The Connector lifted off and exited Earth's atmosphere. The sensation was gentle compared to the liftoff of a commercial airliner, Maverick was awed at the efficiency of her technology. He quit listening to even Qyx and he forgot to take a seat, too busy admiring space and the view of Earth. Conceptually, he had always been aware of the insignificance of humanity in the cosmos, that it stretched like a beach along the ocean and Earth was merely a grain in the sand. But this view... emotion welled in Maverick's core and it did cause him to shed a single tear as he stood, ripped apart by the need to laugh joyously. It took every fiber of his being to contain his composure, but a single tear and his brimming smile was evidence enough. "I did it bro." He whispered to himself, still not caring about the others. The abyss that he was staring at was staring back, he could feel it, and it made his blood boil with excitement. "So what are your names? What should we know about you?" Maverick was pulled from his mind's wanderings. Still standing, he patiently listened to the group and their introductions, although half his attention was aimed like a laser beam at Qyx, as he stood only a few steps away from her. Maverick made a mental note to conspire with Devon and utilize his baking skills to make "special" brownies. What's the point of space faring without a psychedelic experience? Although, he wondered if floating in space would be similar to an isolation tank. No sensations, no gravity. Just the cold vacuum and the endless expanse to stare at. Maverick did admire Jennifer though, more so than any of the other humans. He was an old soul given the spring time body of youth, so he always felt more comfortable around older people. The nameless brunette seemed too riddled with anxiety to even pay attention and introduce herself. And then there was the worried mathematician, Nathaniel, whom Maverick was unimpressed with. "You say space is dangerous, but it's not like there's anything out there to get us, right?" "Life's dangerous brotato chip," Maverick halfway scoffed, interjecting because he believed the question was too insignificant to waste time on, "Anyways, my name is Maverick. This is Sydney." He outstretched the potted pot plant in his arms so that everyone could see her, the immature marijuana plant extending her leaves towards the pure sunlight unfettered by Earth's atmosphere, "She's my baby. Intergalactic Lemon. I'm totally meant for this journey, milady," he turned towards Qyx with dramatic flair, bowing his head with his plant clutched at his abdomen, "I humbly thank you for this once in a lifetime opportunity. You are my hero." "Now when do we eat?" :D
