You said late middle age and on the verge of entering Renaissance. I know that it was around those times that people began having second thoughts about religion, even going as far as having rebellious thoughts against the Papal institutions. Also, the way you said it, Vorst and Vectis are exactly like Constantinople and Rome? West and Eastern Roman Empire, so to say. Should we consider their story to be close to the roman empire, which mean one and same empire that split in two, or does the resemblance stops there?
