Lilith noticed Wyatt, another of the Gifted, enter the classroom and wave. She nodded and smiled slightly in greeting, before switching her attention back to Aisling. The red-haired girl was smiling happily as she replied, "Thanks for the invite. I'd be happy to sit with you at lunch. I can't draw very well but I do play the piano well enough. I hope to find a new piano teacher so I can continue my lessons. I even have my own piano. I hope that where I am staying at will let me have it in the house. My grandmother is very ill and she sent me here for a while." “Oh. I’m sorry about your grandma. I think it’s cool you play piano, I love music. I think class is starting now, though, so I’ll talk to you later at lunch.” Lilith’s hands had gone into autopilot while she was talking, and the basic features of the phoenix were done. She began pouring detail into the wings, making sure to look obvious, an exaggerated rubbing of the eraser on the paper, and a sweep of the pencil that was too large to be words. The teacher would come in and see Lilith drawing, but couldn’t do anything since class hadn’t started yet. Then, when it had started, they couldn’t take it away because she always hid it under a piece of paper. They couldn’t move things because that would be an invasion of privacy. They couldn’t accuse her because she was a masterful liar. This only infuriated them. She also got good grades, not a straight-A student, but not terrible either. She would draw every class they had sitting down, and Lilith reveled in it.
