Basics Full Name: Sarah Vermilion AKA "Cerulean" Age: 19 Gender: Female Race: [hider2=Human of Red] Humans of Red are a peculiar biological elite that exists in few numbers among the human population. Their bodies, called the "Temple of Red" by their kind, are host to an astounding, bountiful supply of natural energy. No matter the hardships they are forced to endure, those blessed by Red will always remain healthy and vigorous, until the moment their heart stops beating entirely. Humans of Red are almost always part of the same religion, known as the Church of Red. Followers of Red have developed their own field of magic known by none other. These magics are usually referred to as "Miracles", and practitioners of these arts are known as "Clerics". Followers of Red traditionally wear a red hood over their heads, in order to signify their faith. This is helpful for identifying others of their kind, as otherwise they are sometimes difficult to distinguish from ordinary humans. Very rarely, Elves of Red are born. This is not an understood phenomenon, but it suggests that the existence of Humans of Red has nothing to do with species. In the teachings of Red, there is mention of an "Evil" faction, referred to only as the Church of Black. It is seemingly thought that this Church does not truly exist, but instead represents some other concept.[/hider2] Appearance Clothing: As pictured. Additionally, owns two red cloaks and an alternative red hood for colder weather. Her clothing has mostly been coordinated in such a way as to allow proper movement across treacherous landscapes. Armour: Leather gloves, comfortable and well-fitted. Other: Her red clothing was made using a special method, and their colours never seem to fade in the slightest. Background Faction: Volunteer Who are you? "Ah, that lass over there? You've got good taste...eheheh. She's come a long way to join this journey, part of that Church of Red from the sounds of it. A bit of a joke there, innit? Anyways, I think her business here was to look for holy relics and provide...how did she put it? Religious and spiritual support? Something along those lines. She don't look like it, but she's supposed to be one tough Mage, I'd watch yourself." Moral Alignment Selflessness: 7 "If it is within my power to do so, and it does not interfere with the will of the Patron, then I shall face any challenge for the sake of another." Snobbery: 8 "It is not the way of Red to look down on the weak." Racist Tendencies: Besides those of monsterkind she has been taught to hate through her religion, she holds no real disdain for the other races, so long as they are at least somewhat "Human". Having grown up almost entirely around members of her own kind, she is still surprised whenever she sees an elf or dwarf rounding the way, but this is more in an innocent sense than one of shock or terror. Piety: 10 "Ohh Patron of Red, it is through your kindness that I draw each and every breath, and I swear on my soul that I shall one day repay you for every last one." Justice: 1 "To retribute for wrongs done is the way of Red. None shall be spared, except those spoken of in the word of the Patron." Sexist Tendencies: 9 "All people man or woman, have their place in the eyes of the Patron." Combat Main Skills: Sarah is a Cleric from the Church of Red, so she has been taught the magic of her faith since a very young age. Wielding powerful offensive and supportive Miracles, she can be considered to be on the same level as a moderately learned and talented Mage. Compared to conventional magic, Miracles are often seen to be much slower to cast, while sporting a wide variety of effects uncommon in the arsenals of conventional Mages. Reinforcement, healing, illumination, shocking bursts, burning light, all of these things and more are at her beck and call. She's a true Cleric, through and through. Secondary Skills: Problem solving, you could call this the skill of "finding the enemy's weak point" or "seeing the secret door that leads to unimaginable wealth". Rather than something that was developed, this is a sort of innate talent that she has possessed her entire life. In time, this skill could probably be honed greatly. Oh, she's pretty agile too, although this is mostly because of her healthy body. Primary Weapon: Her faith. Secondary Weapon: Nope. Hidden/Stored Weapons: Nah, man. Passive/Support Main Skills: Outside of the action, Sarah's most powerful skill is definitely her diplomacy. Whether it's diffusing an argument or bartering for a good deal on the latest and greatest, she sports extraordinary luck in all sorts of conversational ventures. This isn't extremely useful, but hey, anything helps. She's also an accomplished healer, both in the magical and the medical sense. Secondary Skills: Reading, she's one of the few people on the ship possessing rudimentary knowledge of ancient languages. She can sing pretty good, too! Items of Note: A jar of disinfecting paste, blessed by a high-ranking cleric. A small bag containing beautiful red gemstones, each in a simple triangular shape. A sewing kit, with several sorts of thread (including some blessed red thread.) Anti-Godmod 3000 Achlies’ Heel: Due to her upraising, Sarah has virtually no experience with species besides her own kind. During the journey, she's had plenty of time to socialise with ordinary humans, and has a decent grasp on how they act and function, but she still isn't what you would call an expert. Because of this, she may sometimes seem "inhuman" or otherwise distant. She's also quite innocent and naive, two traits that she has somehow managed to keep even through the hell of a journey she was forced to endure. While hardy, she isn't all that strong physically, being unable to lift large objects or overpower similarly sized opponents. She has very minimal training with any sort of weapon, so she wouldn't be of much use even if given one. Her very strong faith means that it is virtually impossible for her to disobey her beliefs. What this entails is entirely unknown, but it can't be good. Very lacking in practical skills, outside of the few she's been taught.
Here's a barebones character concept for ya~!
