Personally, there was a lot of good stuff in DBZ I missed as a kid. Still, everything it did well, Dragonball did better, apart from the spectacle of the fights, which was undermined by how much they were dragged out.

Personally, I think the more recent episodes of DBZA are more like Dragonball that DBZ was.
