Name: Aemoten Ethnicity and species: Lower Sekalyn, human Gender: Male Age: Appears to be about thirty. Might seem slightly ageless. Physical appearance: Aemoten stands at about 6'2'' (1.88 meters); his frame appears narrow rather than wide-shouldered, his posture is usually kept almost perfectly straight, but relaxed and loose. He is in good physical shape, muscled, but not bulky - combined with his narrow structure leaves the impression of being flexible and nimble. To go with his agile-looking body he has - to the region - unusually sharp facial features, with a well-defined jawline, high cheekbones, pointed chin and a narrow, long nose; his eyes might appear slightly deep-set, and are of darker green color, with a few brown speckles mingled in. His skin permanently looks notably tanned, but is not significantly darker than that of a well-tanned Rodorian; his lips appear relatively thin and pale in comparison, covering a fine row of teeth. Finally, his hair is almost completely straight, lighter brown in color, reaching down to his lower back, and his eyebrows are darker, nearly black; he is usually clean-shaven and thus has no other spottable facial hair. A native Rodorian would most likely be able to quickly identify him as a foreigner by his physical looks alone. The main weapon: The only truly permanent - and practically irreplaceable - thing Aemoten carries with him is his sword. The weapon is undecorated, but of very good quality, its single-piece metal body seemingly without a single scratch, its cutting-edge so sharp that it practically cannot be touched with a bare finger without it slicing into skin. The sword is single-edged, its ninety-centimeter-long blade's back nearly straight but its cutting edge having a fine curve as it narrows to the point at the tip. While most of the blade is deep black, the cutting-edge and adjacent area are a bright silverly color. At the base of the blade where it goes over into the guard - as a sort of continuation of the lower, cutting-edge of the blade and as a part of the guard - there is a backwards-and-out-extending four-inch spike; the guard itself reaches in all directions and is designed to stop a blade from sliding over from any angle. The grip is long enough to comfortably fit two hands and still have some space to spare, and has a leather strip wrapped and secured around it - the only thing on the sword which is not a part of the same solid piece of metal. The sword is sturdy and rather heavy - the entire weight of the weapon is around 6.8 pounds pounds (2.8 kilogrammes), about twice that of an average longsword of the same length. Preferred clothing:Generally Aemoten prefers to wear relatively light and simple clothing - usually consisting of naturally-colored leather boots, simple pants which are either black or dust-colored, a wide leather belt to which his sword's scabbard, several knife- or dagger-sheathes and possible other things are attached, and a long sleeveless shirt, yellowish green being the preferred color for the latter. If the weather is colder, he tends to wear various overgarments reminiscent to long jackets, half-length robes or similar thrown over his shoulders, usually reaching to mid-thigh or being about knee-length or a little over that. He also has a long black winter-coat, which ends just an inch above the ground if hanging straight. Carries along a bag with most of his possessions, often slung over one shoulder.
NPCs. Name: Etakar Gender: Male Species:
Dekkun are large quadruped mammals who stand from six to quite impressive eight and a half feet tall at withers, and measure a bit over thrice that from snout to the tip of the tail, with the tail making up about a third of their full body-length. They appear agile despite their respectable size, with their bodies being elongated and, though strongly built and muscled, remarkably flexible. Their long tails are sleek, almost perpetually held high and horizontal to the ground, and shaped slightly like those of some lizards; their heads in return are very mildly reminiscent to those of horses' in shape, but with longer, mildly beak-tipped snouts and strong jaws filled with distinctively predatory teeth effortlessly capable of crushing bones. Where the ears would be positioned on a horse's head are actually two short, smooth, backwards-extending horns; their actual ears are mostly invisible against their maned necks. They also have small and almost unnervingly intelligent deep-set eyes. Dekkuns' legs (and respectable shoulders and hips) structurally most closely resemble those of large cats. Instead of having paws, they however have long, thick fingers and toes covered in hard, resilient plating, and usually walk on the backs of their middle phalanxes - something which might on the first look leave the false impression of them being hoofed. This setting however also permits them to stretch their digits forward and use the length of those combined with the sharp, mildly curving claws they possess to climb impossibly steep cliffs and even trees, given that the latter are sturdy enough to support a dekkun's massive weight. Furthermore, their well-developed strong-clawed digits make very effective tools for tearing stuff (or beings) apart and digging, as well as give them some ability to hold things in hand, though the lack of proper opposable thumbs makes dekkuns' feet unsuitable for more complex tasks. On rear feet, all five digits are used for walking, however on the front legs, only the three middle ones have the purpose. The outer digit of each of dekkuns' front legs has turned into a slightly curving, up to two feet long extendable blade, which is usually flipped back against the lower foreleg, and the inner one - the equivalent of thumb on human hand - has turned into a rigid downwards-curving spike hosting very strong, paralyzing chemical. Their bodies are covered in hard plate-like formations deriving from fur on the face and lower limbs, whereas on the rest of their bodies those formations become longer and start to overlap, with the back end of each 'plate' splitting into many softer and more flexible strands forming a quite functional fur-coat atop of the protective plating. On the neck, this topmost layer of fur becomes especially long and extensive, giving common dekkun almost lionlike manes. At the very tips of their tails, the plates often do not fully split into fur, but retain some of their rigidity. Dekkuns' coloration varies greatly, with those found in areas of dense foliage being generally smaller and brighter-colored (patterns of green, dark red and dark blue) and those of plains being more massive and duller in color (patterns of dull yellow or light green, brown and blueish gray).
Age: Fifty-three - well within what could be considered a dekkun's age of peak health and physical prowess. Physical appearance: Typical plains' dekkun standing at 7'8'' (2.34 meters) at the withers and weighing about eight thousand pounds (3700 kilogrammes). Brown eyes, light hay-yellow plating, fur mostly mix of dull yellow and blueish-gray with the very tips of the hairs regionally being reddish-brown, especially those of the mane. Physical appearance: Dark brown bay, a larger riding-horse standing 5'5'' at withers. Suffers from number of partially-healed lesser injuries caused by goblins.
