"That's fine by me." Kijani took a sip of her drink, rolling the liquid over her tongue and sighing softly. It was delicious, but you know what they said about people who drank alone. This was just sad, but at least it was honest. The sort of people she usually met over alcohol weren't exactly the type to come to small places like this. She picked up the burger and took a dainty bite. It was hot and well-cooked, and she uncapped the ketchup to dab a little bit underneath the bun. She had a choice to make. Go to the good hotel, where she'd be more comfortable, but her money would run out faster, or go to the other hotel, where it was likely to be less showy, but she'd last longer. A faint smirk crossed her lips when she realized she'd never had to think about budgeting before. That bit of mirth faded quickly when she realized how far that removed her from the rest of the world. She heaved a sigh, running her hand through her dreadlocks and staring blankly at the table.
