Magnolia Spencer was a relatively normal child born to a woman and a man, both chefs that worked in a small neighborhood. Magnolia did well in kindergarten and was friendly with all, never getting into fights. She was a sweet girl who had a fascination with bugs and wouldn’t harm a fly. 

All of this changed when she turned seven years old and was playing at the park near her parents’ restaurant. It was nearing seven o’clock and the neighborhood she was in had never had any prior incidences. Magnolia was on the swings when a teenager approached her, grabbing her by the scruff of her neck and throwing her onto the ground. Fear gripped the young girl’s heart and the traumatic experience stirred something within her. His grinning face was all she saw and then she saw him running away with a bleeding nose, like a skipped movie. She had no idea how the moments transitioned. As the months passed by, she kept losing time and was accused of fights at school. At the age of nine, after many incidences of memory loss and unusual behavior, Magnolia discovered another personality within her named Piper whom was a hot-headed, blunt violent girl living within her. Magnolia was later diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder, or Multiple Personality Disorder.

While struggling to control her other personality, Magnolia went through school with silence, hardly ever talking and always concentrating on her studies. However, when Piper had control, she lived a much more dangerous life. Piper hung out with bad influences and was always getting into trouble. Piper had a boyfriend who she ended up beating up when she discovered he cheated on her, and if Piper had control during a test, Magnolia was doomed to fail. Despite their vast differences, Magnolia considered Piper to be her best friend.

When the Virus gained control on the world, Magnolia heavily relied on Piper to keep her sane and safe during the times. She attended college for a while in the beginning of the outbreak, having a job as a bartender to pay for her tuition, but eventually dropped out when she began to fear the plants that had grown around her. Eventually, Magnolia and her alternative personality, Piper, packed their bags in hopes of finding somewhere that was safer and still retained societal life.
