Hello everybody. I want to pitch in the idea for A Song of Ice and Fire RPG. I have not fully thought this out, and I am not planning on completely driving the plot. Rather, I want to gather a group of people who would like to each contribute to the plot and story-line. I want to be able, however, to moderate those who are blatantly killing the game. The main problem that presents itself is the hierarchy in Westeros. Some characters are going to have much more authority then others. It wouldn't be right if one player had a character who was the Warden of the West, while another was a hedge-knight. Any ideas guys? Maybe we can have the plot focus on a group of sell-swords? Or, if we get enough players, we can have two or more groups of players, each fighting under the banner-men of different factions. Perhaps even have each character be the banner-man himself, a Lord with a small army who fights for his Warden. This will also allow the political aspect of the world to kick in. A hedge knight won't have many interesting political situations or intrigue, but a Lord of a holding definitely will. Another option is, we might be able to simply use the world of Westeros and other continents from A Song of Ice and Fire, but create our own massive conflict, which would unite these factions and see constant interaction between them.
