That has resulted in him taking a job in the order where he can help without having to really deal with people. Master: Bao-dur History: Raised on Corellia, his parents were average people. His mom worked in her brother's distillery, and his father worked in a factory that made electrical components. When he was young he found that he had a knack for electronics. He pursued his interest and soon found that he could almost hear the machine talking to him. He used this gift to go to mechanic school and, when he was 16, earned his mechanic credentials. He worked on swoops and speeders for the next few years, until one of the starports in the city agreed to hire him. Several years later, he was working at the shipyard when Bao-Dur's shuttle landed. Salas knew it had a sticky plasma exhaust valve and told Bao-dur. Though Bao-dur didn't know if it was true, he ran a diagnosis and found the sticky valve, which made him think that maybe the mechanic knew more than he should. After learning about Salas's lifelong knack for understanding all things electronic he suspected that Salas might be force sensitive. He tested Salas by having him move a one hundred credit chip with the force, and telling him that if he succeeded he could keep the chip. Instead of moving it, however, he shocked Bao-dur's hand. He apologized, saying that sometimes, if he concentrated too hard, he would shock things. Bao-dur Knew he could become a Jedi and offered to teach him the the ways of the Force. Deciding that it would be more interesting than fixing yet another broken ship, he agreed. When Bao-dur left the planet, Salas went with him. Bao-dur taught him the basics of the force, how to move things, how to manipulate minds, as well as more subtle aspects, and he traveled with Bao-dur as he picked up parts and repaired things at the temples. When he thought Salas was ready he had him stay on Dantooine while he made a quick trip back to Coruscant. Salas passed the Padawan exams and received his lightsaber, as well as a special crystal from a previously unexplored area of the crystal caves, one that had been exposed due to a cave in. After a few months of traveling with his mentor again, Salas was sent to stay on Dantooine. Bao-dur believed that he could best learn the ways of the force from a master, instead of a knight who rarely used his skills. Salas stayed there, learning other Saber forms and techniques along with the other students. There he found he also had a gift for manipulating energy, including electricity and heat. He used this to study the art of Tutaminis, or absorbing energy. Though he wasn't particularly gifted in mental manipulation or healing, this skill let him greatly enhance its effectiveness. One day, while making some routine repairs on the Ebon Hawk, he stumbled across the blocked files in the navicomputer. He spent much of his days for the next week trying to unlock the files and eventually succeeded. When he read them, however, he knew that they were extremely important, and took a copy of them to Master Vrook. He sent a copy to the Counsel on Coruscant and they decided to commission a group of Jedi to travel there to learn about the enemy and, if need be, to stop the attack on the Jedi and the Republic by any means necessary.
