It was dark. She was alone. She knew she was awake yet her body refused to respond to her will. The voices and sounds were tormenting her psyche; she couldn't bear it any longer. Suddenly, she jolted awake; her breath was heavy and pained. Dr. Thorne sat up as her very breath became a conscious effort. She felt the soft grass at her fingertips, the still breeze on her face, and the moisture of the environment on her skin. Thorne rubbed her head as she fumbled for the glasses that she always kept in her pocket. With a slight tug, Thorne grabbed her glasses and put them on, giving her a clear glimpse of the world around her. Thorne looked around wearily, she noticed some other hazy figures who were walking about, apparently awakened from their dreamless slumber. "What the---?" Thorne mumbled as she tried to stand, but her knees gave way and she plopped to the ground within a heartbeat. "Damn. Calm down.." Thorne chanted to herself as she bit her soft thumb in an attempt to not lose her sanity. "Have I been abducted? If that's the case--" Thorne attempted to make use of her logic in order to find a rational reason behind all of these. "Curses... It must be that Chriss." she mumbled silently before grunting and heaving herself up. Thorne stood up awkwardly as she felt her legs still weakened beneath her weight. She limped over to a nearby tree as she leaned on it. "This must be the one where I get abducted, and possibly killed; worse, raped. How do I get out of here?!" Thorne pounded her fist on the tree as she realized that she was helpless, clueless, and worthless under these conditions. What's a PhD when she can't even save her own skin? A dissertation ain't gonna regrow her limb as far as science is concerned. Thorne tried to recall the things that happened so far. She was currently finishing her paper on Paranormal Environmental Changes. Next, one of her research assistants handed her an Oolong tea. As always the tea was served in her favorite pink furry cat styled cup. The last thing she remembered was her taking a sip of the tea before her eyes lose their light. "So that Research Assistant was Chriss' culprit huh? I still don't get it... if Chriss wanted to abduct me, why include these other people?" Thorne panted as she strove to breath in oxygen for her brain to keep working. Her breaths began to get more painful and conscious... it seems even though she looked calm, her mind was in anarchy. Thorne gripped her chest as she focused on breathing before anything else... If Chriss was the one behind all of this, she would first shove her own D (doctorate) up his ass before she would get raped or killed. She might get killed, but Thorne has no intention to just roll over and die without a fight.
