FF8 is superior. The first 5 FF games were meh. 
6 was great, 
7 put Squaresoft on the map, 
8 was the graduation ceremony, 
9 was the after-party
10 was the first employment after receiving their Bachelor's degree
11 was a really fun drunken weekend
12 was the hangover on Monday, but they still had to come into work
13 was full-blown alcoholism
14 was irreversible liver damage
15 is rehab.
