She will still receive injury depending on the magnitude. She cannot actually absorb kinetic energy since she creates it biologically. She can only redirect its path. She can redirect the kinetic energy from a punch to the face into a plasma blast, but she will still have a black eye. She wouldn't try to absorb a laser due to its electromagnetic properties. Could she? Maybe, but who is to say if her body could handle it. Energy Absorption is her main power, Kinetic Energy Redirection is only an arm of that power.
