Check out ptsd and schizophrenia.... my mother had schitzoaffective disorder caused by ptsd and heard voices and had episodes anytime she was overly stressed. Also she had bipolar 1 and 2 so severely she was borderline multiple personalities which is a disassociative disorder also caused by ptsd. Trauma can cause loads of mental problems.
