Shadow Zone Wing It had been a standard enough trip to the area of operation. Liam had received his brief, and was given instruction that Brucey was in command. Good enough. The Aussie had seen him through one mission, and with any luck he'd see him through a second. It wouldn't occur to Liam that perhaps he had helped himself survive more than make sure he saved anyone else, at any rate Liam stepped out of the transport and onto the battlefield. This round he felt slightly more confident. Perhaps not in himself, but in the equipment he brought with him. While the silence of the Shadow Zone still caused untold stress, the low hum of his newly equipped LAS-Mod provided some comfort. He'd seen first hand how poorly the creatures had reacted to fire, and short of a flamethrower like Brucey's this would be as close as he'd get. That coupled with the additional support they received for this mission served to ease Liam's mind and gave hope to his survival. Acting against this hope were the predictions of Abimael, because how in the name of whichever deity smiled upon Liam today were they supposed to fight an angel? And then the radio began. If Liam was a man less in control of his bladder he might have wet himself. Instead he stood almost paralyzed as the enemy who wasn't supposed to be a technological threat surpassed expectations. Sweat began to form on his brow as he contemplated how else they might have underestimated the enemy. He did a quick check of his surroundings to make sure the enemy weren't already upon them, and tried to regain a normal breathing rate. Shortly after Micahel's radio announcement Brucey issued orders. After shaking off as much panic as he could Liam nodded, probably 5 times more than was necessary. All the same he was just as pleased to act as floating squad as anything else, and he soon found himself close to the center of the street near Carolyn. He'd heard of her at least, and she was likely a good person to have at his side. With a quick salute towards Carolyn he found himself beside her with his rifle at the ready. As prepared as he could be for what was to come.
