"Paige. Pleasure to mee..." The siren blared, cutting her off as the announcer began the countdown. So much for introductions. Still, she'd learned at least a little about some of her teammates. Amanda, for instance, was an asshole. A really powerful asshole from the looks of it, but still an asshole. Her and Nikki seemed pretty tight though, so there almost had to be something more than just two people who met and hit it off, considering just how different they were. What that something was, Paige had no idea, and at this point it didn't really matter. What did matter was this godawful music that suddenly started blaring from some silver-haired girl that was casually skipping along in the wake of Amanda's headlong charge, uncaring of the effect the music had on her teammates. Or maybe she did care, and was really working for the other team. Either way, god that music is terrible! Who the hell even puts that on their ipod? There was something seriously messed up about that girl. Paige had heard Steven talk about psychological warfare before, but he'd never mentioned anything as cruel as this. What was even weirder was that the music seemed to energize Paige herself, loud as it was. She felt like she could run for days all of a sudden, like she'd just had a dozen energy drinks and was never gonna sleep again. This had happened before a couple times, mostly when she got too close to a fire or that time when lightning hit a nearby tree, but never with just music. Maybe this is the part of me that Steven thinks they'll be able to help me understand. Regardless, she wasn't going to waste this energy. Without waiting to see what had become of Amanda and her reckless charge, Paige darted off to the right and through the nearest door in the wall, then made a beeline for the other team's base. She was fairly certain the other team would send people into the walls as well, they'd be idiots not to, but she'd just have to deal with them when they appeared.
