Should I assume you would be taking the male role in any possible RP? I am interested in the whole cyborg x regular person. 

Cyborgs had been the answer to so many problems in society from police force, firefighters, emergency crews and even miltary. They were stronger, faster and still had that human side that the programmers couldn't quite capture in a full robot. They still aged and still died.
But behold, a break through happened and the fully automated robot with whatever personality/appearance the owner desire flashed onto the scene. They were the new biggest thing they didn't need to eat and required very little down time.

Those who had gave up their lives and parts for the cyborg program was left in the dust. Forgotten, at least in main stream society with all its glitter and glamour. 
There is much that can be done here if a writer has any interest in the plot.
