I saw the 2013 remake by Spike Lee (on Netflix), and as I understand it they're mostly similar. Good movie, a bit messed up, but good nonetheless. I can definitely see the Oedipus connection there too.

The last movie I saw (in its entirety) was 'Good Morning, Vietnam'. It's a nice, fun movie with a nice little twist at the end. If you like Robin Williams, you'll like it; if you don't like Robin Williams, [s]you're a horrible person and I hate you[/s] then you might want to give it a pass.
