I believe your "see through walls" and such relies on other senses, which can also be avoided. I think ambushes can still be set up with some minor changed targets... I think we share similar senses... Except I get to use the hosts eyes as well if they are intact, or add my own onto my creations >:)

Also, wouldn't you have to shoot every mind, thinker form and sub brain in existence to destroy the hive consciousness? (And then hope the hive doesn't just recycle the useless forms and rebuild a new central consciousness). Unless its an AoE thing, but I presume that would merely effect a specific area and also screw yourself over if you entered it... I feel pretty safe
