Reason for joining the Jedi: She wanted to help more people, and joining the Jedi, and learning to use the Force was the best way to do this.

History: Born into slavery, she spent the first nineteen years of her life working for other people, cleaning up after them, or worse. She would often have to bandage up the slaves whose masters had grown violent, or who had to fight for their master's entertainment.
When Atton found her working for a Hutt in the outer rim during one of his missions he realized that her ability to know what you needed before you did was a Force gift. He bought her, as he still needed to be on the Hutt's good side, and when the mission was over, he set her free. She got a job working for the Republic's Ambassadorial corps and, two years later, when Atton thought that she was over the pain of being a slave enough to learn the lessons of the Jedi Council, he introduced her to Master Vrook and she joined the Jedi, putting her duties in the Ambassadorial Corps on hold. A year later she rose to the rank of Padawan. When he heard of her promotion, Atton brought her a gift, a Solari crystal he had found on the planet Saccoria. She added it to her lightsaber. A month later, when another Padawan, Salas Zen, broke into the navicomputer in the Temple's ship, she decided to join the mission, reactivating her Ambassador status so that she could more fully represent the Republic and it's interests on the mission. She had Salas install encryption and signal masking technology on the Ebon Hawk so that she could keep in touch with her government contacts and they all could keep in touch with the Temple.
