As much as Vash wanted to stick around and comfort Whitney, the alarms went off in his head as he noticed Archer sneaking away from the rest of the group, and he couldn’t even keep his eyes from widening noticeably in response. “Speaking of which,” he quietly added to his earlier remark, before hastily scurrying after the other man in red. “Hey!” he called after Archer once he’d caught sight of him. “Where do you think you’re going?!” he asked semi-rhetorically as he quickened his step, hurrying up the trail so as to put himself in front of Archer. “And more importantly,” he continued, turning to face Archer as he stood in front of him on the trail. “What was all that about back in the cavern?” he questioned, tone starting to grow more serious as his eyes narrowed angrily. “That skeleton guy… you murdered him.” he seethed. “And he wasn’t even our enemy — he was our teammate. He was helping us. Hell, when he changed size and charged at that dragon he even helped save my life.” he growled. “So why… why did you kill him?!” he snapped, his sharp blue eyes locked onto Archer as he waited for some sort of explanation.
