My thought was that this would not have been the first time she's approached Aoife with similar problems, and I threw in the line about "a favor for a favor" so that Ren would be forced to go with her to investigate the lich. :P She hates liches.

By the way, just to help everyone get a better picture of her, Ren's skin tone is quite dark. Her father is light-skinned, as I assume most Lismosians are (it being at least somewhat European-influenced), but her mother is black, and she takes after her mother more than her father.
