Woo! I'll post after I see where yours is going. No objections, 76. I'm drawing a blank for what the artifact could be. An out-of-left-field idea is that this artifact makes you forget WHAT it is if you conceal it with the intention of hiding it. So Ivy gets on the island, buries the artifact somewhere, and then notices that her memory is full of surgically precise holes. That would mean the artifact's magic is ridiculously powerful and oddly specific. It's also a very contrived way of delaying the reveal of this artifact, LOL. I suppose more sensible questions to consider would be: Who made it? A person, "the land"? Why is it outside the island instead of inside it? Does it function as a key, an on/off switch, a fail-safe, or something that only works when broken? Mysteries, oOOo. Is it small and portable, or just medium-sized? Perhaps it can provide minor navigation instructions to the island or straight-up guide/bring the user there. My character has read about boats but never captained one herself, so reaching this uncharted territory alone is nothing short of a miracle. Or she simply goes with her father, who then departs, much to her dismay.
