Well like I already said, she was under a [i]ton[/i] of pressure, and they made it pretty clear that her thinking was crowded more by adrenaline than anything else. Plus, to me, it really looked like they were just hoping for the earth to keep their lights on - or at least Clara was. The fact that she stopped them from killing it at the last moment kind of reinforces the idea that it was a split-second decision, rather than something she took the time to think through.

I already said that, and I agree with you. I just said it was one of the reasons the writers could've had to not make it a space whale. Also, they still weren't obligated to make it one - and have a plethora of other reasons why they didn't have to use one. Including just not wanting to. Not including a space whale doesn't hurt the plot at all. It's just a missed opportunity - and a mild one at that.

They never said "one-cell" bacteria. They just said "bacteria". Given the fact that this creature is the size of (or, rather, literally [i]is[/i]) [b]the fucking Moon[/b], I'd say the spiders were probably about the size, compared to it, that the billions of bacteria living on your body are compared to you. So, maybe they're not literal bacteria, but the idea that they're tiny creatures living practically on this thing's skin... yeah, I get what the Doc was saying.

I really can't argue against this since it's purely an opinion thing - so I guess we'll just agree to disagree on Courtney.

I honestly don't remember any of what you're talking about. That could have something to do with the fact that A) my internet derped out a couple times during the 1st half of this episode, so I wound up missing a few seconds here and there after the stream crashed and I was forced to refresh and then wait for it to reconnect, so I could've missed some things, and B) I feel like I honestly don't remember a lot of the 1st half, since, once they addressed the egg thing, I became a [i]lot[/i] more invested in the episode, and it kind of blew everything before it out of the water. The first half kind of pales in comparison and I really can't think of any particular moments that stuck with me - save for the references to Four and his yo-yo, which I really enjoyed. I mean, as soon as he said he was "gravity-testing", I was waiting for that thing to come out. And sure enough, I saw the yo-yo pretty much as soon as the thought crossed my mind. Which made it even better, for me. :lol
