In fact, if he really had to say so, his attack worked far better than he expected! Maybe he spoke too soon. Without even reaching two paces away from their original position, the virtuoso felt both of his ankles being grabbed at by something bony. It was probably his paranoia in action when Lute thought of a reanimated skeleton holding him back, so when he turned around to check on it… Well, let’s just say his forehead got well-acquainted with Poppy’s foot. As they were nearing the edge of the stage, the force of the kick toppled the virtuoso over the edge, where he fell down quite precariously to the ground. A loud crack sounded. Did he break his neck? A quick peer would show the cracked remains of a bulb on the floor, whilst Lute himself was crawling- well, more like shimmying- towards the bloodied Aria. When he was alerted to the fact that Poppy and Lidya had realized his trick, the man hopped back onstage and faced them, although he was stepping backwards ever so often. The spell Amy had cast earlier was now taking its effect, as was obvious by the bounce in Lute’s step. Speaking of, he was missing both shoes, having thrown one at the bunny being overly familiar with his friend’s face. The thing had been toppled off, but he had been noticed before he could do anything more helpful. “I …” Lute faltered and he brought his remaining shoe up in a dismissive manner as Poppy and Lidya approached, “could make jokes about how I’m armed and dangerous, but I’ll save us both the time. Have at you!” With that, he threw his sneaker at Lidya’s maw and made a run for it, screeching angrily at the creepy toys that were harassing Aria. In a few steps he was at the illusionist’s side, ready to assist her- “Oooof!” Lute exclaimed as he slipped on the blood puddle and fell on his behind- and what toys he could remove from her were hastily thrown at either Lidya or Poppy.
