Isaiah removed his helmet and ran his hands through his dreads trying to calm his beating heart. He didn't know what the hell he feeling right now, was it anger, sadness, regret? The one decision he had ever made for himself had practically shattered his entire world and he couldn't stand it. "Let's just go home. Isaiah shook his head. This was the only home he knew, he couldn't leave it. He was needed here. "Really?"The voice laughed. "You could've fooled me Isaiah. Who exactly needs you? Isaiah stopped and thought about it. Who needed him? He promised Lorelai to always stay by her side, and yet now she hated him. He swore an oath to Steffan but he was a king who command many knights, if he was gone he wouldn't be missed. And then there was Irena...she had said she loved him and yet she still had Steffan and soon a child. She had her King to protect her, she didn't need him either. With all of that why did he stay? "How many scars do you bear for them Isaiah? And for what in return? False love? Crushing guilt? The constant promise that you'll lose your life in place of anothers?" Every scar from every old wound he every received protecting them that he used to wear with pride now burned him. He had damn well almost lost his arm from the damage he received from the bolt and giant respectively. Wounds he received so that his Queen and Princess would stay safe and now neither wanted anything to do with him. The decision practically made itself. His King had promised him a reward for saving the queen and he would take it, by asking for a ship and once he had it he would sail far away from this place. He wished it had never come to this, he wished he had drowned instead of washing up on the beach, he wished that he didn't feel like he had everything and then have it ripped right from under him. But that didn't matter, because it did happened, there was no changing it now. The feast would begin soon and he needed to be present, placing the helm back on his head he walked to the feast hall. Once the celebration was over he would request an audience with the King and ask for his ship, until then he would continue his duty as normal and then he would leave. It would be easier for everyone this way.
