I figured you would. But on a serious note, Imperial E-11 blasters have an effective range of only 100 meters, and non-carbine version had excessive recoil, causing troopers to complain about a lack of accuracy (According to wookipedia anyway). So really, we do have an advantage when it comes to range and accuracy.
