"I suppose redemption is a key part of the ritual. Not sure if this would work on an unwilling vampire. I wouldn't mind if it didn't."Bouwe sat down, the exhaustion was finally starting to get to him. "The point is to give the choice back. I chose to be a vampire, and I came to regret that. But not everyone had that kind of luxury."Bouwe jotted down a few words on a post-it and put it against the wall of post-its, pictures and red lines."I must confess, after being a vampire for over hundreds of years does leave it's marks. I did call you here with ulterior motive.I need your help bringing this cure to the public. It isn't finished to a point where I can guarantee results so I can't just throw it on the internet and hope for the best.Besides, I'll be an important political pawn to have. People will be after me for this information. To be the only ones who can turn vampires human is quite the ace up your sleeve to have. I need your help to make sure I don't end up in some dungeon, working for someone's questionable agenda."On the table was a small plain looking usb stick. Bouwe handed it to Angela. "This is a report of all my research, should something happen to me, make it public, anonymously. But let's make sure this isn't needed."
Angela wasn't even writing, as she was listening so intently. She looked at the USB stick and accepted it. "Bouwe. I'll take this, and I'll be sure to back it up and release it as you say, if anything were to happen to you, but... I don't think you can go to the public right out, right now, just with your own success. There are going to be so many people who won't believe that you were ever a vampire, even though we have proof. I mean, you're registered and all, but you're going to need to revert someone else, and have it recorded and observed by scientists or something. Listen, I have another idea. If you want to avoid becoming famous, or a martyr, then maybe you could keep your reversion ritual on the street for a while. We could look for candidates by word of mouth. Maybe we could go to some of those Christian, fledgling sanctuaries. You know those places for wrongly turned and new, unwilling vampires? I'm sure there are lots of them that would die to be human again. After a while, word will get out slowly, and you can decide if you want to be known or not. Let me take care of getting word out for you on the underground. I can do that." Angela looked at him in awe and concern. "You know, you've got a vampire's home. My place has food and is clean. I would feel better if you stayed with me for a little while, so I can keep an eye on you. Would that be alright? God, I hope you don't have a cat allergy."
