Techniques: Yoshis are generally very quick and good at jumping long distances, but they are poor at vertical jumping and very much lack in upper body strength. Generally Yoshis fight with a combination of kicks, head butts and tail slams, occasionally throwing in some egg and tongue based techniques for good effect. DJ is a quick runner who can deliver powerful blows if given enough space to move, but he lacks technical skill and can be exceptionally clumsy in tight and confined spaces. If he isn't careful his speed can be his own downfall just as readily as his opponent's. 

Brain-Bruiser: DJ has an exceptionally tough skull and a nose capable of absorbing the impact. He can slam his tough noggin down on an enemy with differing levels of impact depending on how fast he is moving. Often he will combine this technique with speed in order to deal great damage, but he has to be very careful with this ability. If DJ misses, his head will have a blind date with solid ground and he will damage himself. Worse yet, he could try this technique on a shelled Koopa or a Beetle and risk knocking himself out completely. This is a high risk high reward technique that can cause some serious damage enemies and DJ alike. 

Yolk-Bomb: Another rather straight forward ability. DJ can swallow objects whole in order to create an egg. He then will throw it at you, because getting hit in the face with an egg hurts. This ability can do anywhere from none to medium to high damage, depending on the quality of the item he swallowed in order to create the egg. Swallowing a koopa shell makes the egg more durable, swallowing a fire flower makes it burst into flames, and swallowing a mushroom causes it to restore health instead. This is a very adaptive and unique ability, but it can also be incredibly expensive on resources. Most of the time DJ will just swallow rocks to produce eggs because powerups ain't cheap, yo.

Brief background history: DJ can only be described as a roamer. DJ's egg was discovered buried in the sandy beaches of the mushroom kingdom, and since then he has never seen the lush forests of Yoshi Island nor has he been properly conditioned by other Yoshi. He was adopted by a family of koopas who raised him to be a good kid, but he quickly grew restless of the simple lifestyle they lead and set out on his own. Since then he has done nothing but travel, roaming from village to village looking for his calling. He would never spend more then a week getting to know everyone in each town before setting off again. He's a bright and cheerful spirit but utilimately he feels lost. 
DJ's most recent stop is Toad Town. Surprisingly he hasn't brought himself around since he heard of how used to routine the townsfolk are, but with the recent trouble he decided to check it out. There was something about a high activity high trouble situation that makes him determined to help out.
