The golden sun shone down brightly on the small town, and a gentle breeze wafted through the streets. Birds chirped away their little songs and in the hedges, grasshoppers clicked. But something was making the birds congregate around a small area. Something was causing the grasshoppers to leave the long grass of the field and hop alongside something, chirping louder than ever before. Something was making the flies of the city buzz around looking. Well, not really something, but someone. Theodore walked through the street, dragging his bike along with him. He shielded his eyes from the golden sun with his hands, while looking up at the circle of birds that almost seemed to circle him. He looked down at his feet, grasshoppers were hopping alongside him. There were a few on his bike, there was even one on his shoulder, chirping away happily. But Theodore liked the sound of grasshoppers. It was soothing and calming. He had just carried out a long journey to Appleseed, he needed to find a job and he had his exam results and CV tucked inside a small pocket on the seat of his bike. "The sun really is hot today" Theodore muttered to himself, beginning to sweat. He looked over to find the coolest building he could. There was a small cafe, but it was very full. There was a comic book store, but that was full as well. There was a small umbrella that someone had put up outside a closed shop, but there was a frail old woman, he didn't want to disturb her. But at last, Theodore found a decent place to shelter from the sun. A book store. Even by just standing at the entrance, he could feel the cool air blowing from inside. Theodore entered. It was very cooling, and Theodore being Theodore, he went straight to the nature and animals section of the library, taking out a small book on grasshoppers and crickets, and beginning to read. He was so engrossed, he didn't notice his bike crashing to the floor until it hit the floor. Theodore gingerly lifted it back up and propped it up against a wall, so it didn't fall again.
