As he raged and yelled, Jaakuna was squeeing the life out of Aloa more and more as each second passed. It took the combined efforts of Mtra and Grant to get Jaakuna to loosen his grip. It wasn’t their actions through physical tugging of Jaakuna. No, it certainly wasn’t that. It was the words that Grant spoke to Jaakuna that got him to snap out of it. It was what Grant said about how Aloa wasn’t the one who did that to Emiri, it was her esper Chaos. Realizing this, Jaakuna let go of his grip and got off of Aloa. As Jaakuna sat down, knees up, elbows resting on their respective knees, and hands placed on his head, and Jaakuna a complete mess; he didn’t hear anything. He just kept thinking back to what caused this. It was his fault that any of this happened. The more he thought about it, the more Jaakuna realized that if he hadn’t left, Emiri wouldn’t have had gone looking for him and she would still remember who she was. After spending a few minutes lost in his own despair-like thoughts, Jaakuna stood up and looked at Emiri. It was ironic. Jaakuna was so worried about not detaching himself from the physical world and its possessions that he didn’t stop to think that the same thing could happen to Emiri. Or at least, a variation of it, anyways. It just didn’t cross his thoughts one bit. Jaakuna smiled pathetically to himself and looked to Aloa, who still was coughing and stood up with the aid of Ryua. “I’m sorry.” Jaakuna simply said, apologizing for his actions. Jaakuna then just looked around. He didn’t even know what to do. No, that wasn’t right. He did know and he didn’t know if that was still an option. “Tell me, with me walking out, did it make it impossible for me to complete the cleansing? I mean, is it too late?” Jaakuna would ask Aloa, but he didn’t look at her. His eyes were on Emiri.
