2012 — Oh Gods... Tables. ---
Name: Alicia Dominica Race: Human Title: The Titan's Hand; Tempest; Captain Class: Pirate Captain, sometimes a licensed Privateer... captain; Master of Gun & Sword Rank: "Hero" Equipment:
Belt of the Titan: What was originally a gigantic ring, this was the first treasure that Alicia ever owned, and one that she keeps on her at nearly all times. It takes the form of a segmented golden metal belt with a bejeweled buckle that she wears loosely around her waist. Either latent magic leftover from its original, titanic owner or some kind of enchantment has given the belt the ability to enable its wearer incredible strength with relatively little cost to the body, strength to carry and fire cannons, to uproot trees and cleave men in twain with one's bare hands. Sea Splitter: A cutlass of strange proportion and size, with a somewhat plain looking black sheath. One third of the blade is saw toothed, the saw bits made of fragments of kraken teeth and the blade is wreathed in some form of techno-sorcery created energy. In unskilled hands, the Sea Splitter can bisect a fully armored man in two. In the more than capable hands of Alicia, they are capable of great feats of slaughter with even greater amounts of precision. One untold ability of the sword is its ability to direct the flow of water in a small radius around Alicia, this includes the blood within the body. The ability finds little usefulness in the grim darkness of the Plains, though. Betwixt and Between: Claiming that she "borrowed" this pair of incredibly ornate gilded handguns off of some incredibly shrine somewhere, Betwixt and Between are two strangely shaped handguns with even stranger ammunition. Engraved with images of armored angels of death battling alien creatures and supposedly crafted by a god of the forge, they fire bolts of condensed magic that need only a short amount time to recharge between shots. The bolts pierce through enemy armor and flesh, embedding themselves into them before exploding violently and causing immense damage to targets and leaving littlet opportunity for survival. Vestements of a Captain: Several magical and scientific trinkets dispersed throughout her person and in her personal stash, many of which appear to simply be ornamental at first glance. They are in fact almost all some form of plundered, looted, stolen, or occasionally bought items that strengthen and embolden in many varying ways, making her an incredibly versatile warrior depending on what she chooses to wear. Many of these trinkets are elemental in nature, or offer some form of other protection from harm. Alone, many are rather minor, but in conjunction, they make her the near unstoppable and irremovable Captain she is. Along with her belt, these trinkets are her symbols of leadership. The Titan's Folly: The flagship of Alicia's fleet, somehow brought in through the gigantic portal and used as a sort of combination between a battlement and the living quarters for the captain and her crew. With a thick hull and its starboard broadside pointed toward the enemy, the ship functions like a stationary fort and firing support for the rest of the heroes, as well as a comfortable buffer for the Tempest when she goes to sleep. Unlike many things related to Alicia, the ship isn't really magical in many ways, but it is a sort of scientific marvel.
Abilities:
Pragmatism: No matter how large of an advantage the Captain has with her superhuman strength, with the aid of her crew, and with her Vestements, she is still a pirate, meaning she will fight as dirty as she can when given the chance and opportunity. To use whatever advantages in environment, to ambush, poison, and do generally whatever it takes to win a battle isn't simply a matter of choice for her kind, it's the best and most effective way to survive. "The Ship & Crew": In order to preserve her Letter of Marque back in Alessus, and to maintain her pirating empire, the Captain has left the vast majority of her men, ships and treasure back home. Taking a good portion of her more trusted and skilled men with her along with her entire flagship, she has a sizable honor guard to help her in battle. Each of the crewmembers she has brought along is a small "hero" in his (or her, in the rare case), own right, and all armed with some kind of weapon treasure that they could find. A relatively powerful bunch when fighting together, they're all good comrades and friends, and always welcoming to someone that'd drink with them or play them a good song. The Tempest: Being a female, Alicia's claim to being a captain wasn't always a certain thing, she had to earn her keep and prove herself long before she could even rise above just being the last captain's wife. One of these ways of gaining her power hold over the crew and grasping her chances at being a captain was her swordsmanship skills. Unparalleled and unerring swordsmanship without peer, she can go toe to toe with much more powerful beings, and when played right (dirty), she can even win against larger, more powerful foes without her titan belt and sword. Nine Lives: The most powerful and potent protective charms that make up her Vestements, nine cat's eye gems that constantly give off an eerie glow -all but two- that alternate between green, yellow and amber. These gemstones are all tied together in a bracelet, worn as a permanent display on Alicia's wrist. As the name would imply, they literally give Alicia nine extra lives, though an observant eye would note that it seems two of the gems have been extinguished, meaning the captain has "died" at least three times before. These gemstones actually age in place of her as well, decaying one by one as they feed her some form of invigorating and imbuing life force. As long as the gemstones aren't completely destroyed, Alicia can revive from any given wound, no matter how grievous or destructive.
History: The Empire of Thoradia is the technological center of Alessus, with a large amount of inventors, scientists, inventive techno-sorcerers, and all around creative thinkers. It's also the home of a system that marks individuals as "Heroes" and academies for the children of said heroes should they die. In an ironic twist, Alicia's parents were heros of this ilk, they had done great deeds in the name of their Emperor and country, dying honorable and fittingly heroic deaths in some martyr-like way. Or so they told Alicia when she was visited at her home one day at the age of 11 by agents of Thoradia and taken to the Rino Fabvius Academy for the orphaned but exceptional children of aristocrats and heroes. There, under the highly educational yet mortifyingly strict tutelage of the Academy that the honorary aristocrat was first touched by her fascination with history and artifacts. It was in her times ditching her classes with a fellow classmate outside of the Academy's walls that she was first faced with the seas, granting her the wanderlust to explore them and see all that history she took an appreciation for firsthand. It would be another eight years before Alicia would graduate from that academy, and now a young woman, she was free to do what she pleased, as long as it wasn't unbecoming as her status as a graduate. So, love for the sea strong as ever, she gained a licence for managing shipyards, and somehow along the way joined the navy as a low ranking officer aboard a large capital ship. Once aboard and sailing, her wishes to travel were rekindled... Some time into her voyages, the military vessel and its escorts were come upon by pirate vessels, raided by a numerically superior and faster force, they were able to put up a fight for an entire day before finally surrendering, most of the crew dead or simply too tired to continue. The entire ship was taken and put under new management, and the captain of the pirates made the ship his own. Alicia, one of the survivors, had attracted the eye of the captain, who gave her an ultimatum: be a wench for the crew, or marry him. The choice was obvious, really... All that done, excuse plot aside (sorry), Alicia eventually gained the trust of her captain, but not the crew, and when he died, she had a bunch of personal treasures that had been gifted to her by the captain, and she took over the ship and the fleet. Biography: While Alicia's actually a pirate more for the adventure than the loot, she's never quite too distant from it. Never-the-less, she gave up her daily life of sailing and plundering and adventuring because she loves Alessus and its seas, things that wouldn't be so fun if the seas were dry and all of the cities and people destroyed. There's an alterior motive that the captain had come to the battlefront with at least some intention of taking "souveniers" off of departed heroes when no one else is looking... Not like the dead need their trinkets anyway. Flaws: Despite an admittedly very rocky start with her climb to being a captain, the crew and Alicia have formed an unspeakable sort of bond that only people who have lived and fought together can have. Every loss and every major wound to a crewmember is like a personal hit to the Captain, like the loss of an incredibly important family member. She consquently does her best to ensure the safety and morale of her crew. Beyond that, all of the people from The Titan's Folly, the Captain included, are human, meaning they are susceptible to humanity's own weaknesses, especially without the treasures they use to protect them. As a pirate, or perhaps just as a person that simply gotten used to pirating, Alicia is a tad bit prone to wander off to a random direction when she has nothing to focus on, and can be a slight kleptomaniac when given chance. To more righteous individuals, she could be considered someone of somewhat loose morals, with a loyalty that can never be bought at any price, but one that can be rented at a remarkably reasonable rate... Luckily, demons aren't all too interested in hiring. Then there's that thing about occasionally going to battle inebriated... One more thing to understand is that while techno-sorcery is a path that inventors in Thoradia can take, true magical constructs and the might of spells are all but unknown to the technological Thoradians, this includes the Captain and her crew, who know quite little about magic beyond the powers bestowed upon them by the artifacts they carry.
---
“Our deeds determine us, as much as we determine our deeds.” Azuki Suminori Age: 23 Appearance: Azuki has dark brown, almost black hair that extends to about halfway down her back, and orange eyes. Her build is compact and muscular, in other words: athletic. For some reason, despite being 23, she looks about 10 years younger and has the height to match her looks, being only slightly taller than Shizuko but still shorter than Emiri, but the weight to match whatever percentage of muscle mass she has, making her look like a 13 year old straight out of the junior Olympics. Azuki’s choice of clothing style can be called dead simple, the wardrobe consisting mostly of skirts, t-shirts, jeans and a few dresses, and her hair is almost always found in a ponytail and she wears plastic framed glasses. On the flip side, she is known to sometimes go about in traditional Japanese clothing, or parts of her kendo uniform. Azuki is particularly strong, agile and has quite a good deal of stamina, even amongst other Puella Magi, perhaps because of her mastery of the martial art style Niten Ichi-ryuu. Her Puella Magi outfit consists of a short blue and white kimono with a floral pattern and black frills on the bottom, two swords are worn at her waist: a rather plain looking wakizashi and a rather ornate katana with what appears to be her soul gem embedded into the pommel, reinforced by metal, probably to keep the gem from getting damaged. Personality: Azuki seems to live alone and on her own terms, and as she no longer works as a swordplay apprentice outside of Mitakihara (her main source of social encounters), she isn’t one to talk or socialize much either and prefers to be left to her own devices. She is rather tough, even occasionally demeaning and often serious, lending to a sense that she’s incredibly strong-willed and stubborn, if not decisively intelligent and witty. She doesn’t get personally close to many people, but occasionally shows a mentoring or nice disposition to even the random passerby if they seem to be in need of help. However, unlike her stiff and stoic personality shown toward the general public and most individuals, Azuki is known to be very nice to children, often giving them advice or telling them stories. Even then, she seems to maintain a stern sort of attitude with them, making sure to tell children not to make unnecessary wishes without thinking them through. She seems to hate wishful thinkers in general, or at least people who set goals but never act upon them, including people who stand about only asking to be helped rather than trying to help themselves. On another note, due to being mistaken for being much younger due to her appearance, Azuki can sometimes be seen with an unlit cigarette in her mouth, which she very rarely actually lights, but does have a lighter for in case she does. Azuki is actually a Puella Magi, and an incredibly veteran one at that, having been fighting witches for over 10 years now. The fact that she’s been a Puella for so long is actually the reason she’s so cold to most people and doesn’t maintain many friendships, as she’s well aware that she can turn into a witch or die at any given time. It’s also the obvious reason behind her seeming lack of being able to age. Despite being a Puella, and despite her history, Azuki is incredibly stable mentally, seeing the disposal of witches as putting a suffering person out of their misery. Even then, she isn’t very friendly to other Puella Magi most of the time, and will work alone. Likes: Animals, seafood, Sengoku Dramas, classical literature, sweets that aren’t azuki related Dislikes: Azuki Beans, blind wishes, crowds, bitter food, romance novels, playing video games (even if she’s good at them) Pet Peeves: Anyone willingly taking advantage of another person in any way Hobbies/pastimes: Practices a few forms of martial arts, especially swordsmanship, draws and paints and writes (bad) poetry in her free time Simple Backstory: Originally part of a family of four, life couldn’t have seemed any more normal for Azuki. Living in a small town not far from Mitakihara, Azuki was a sweet, if not slightly timid girl, unfettered by any real worries outside of getting good grades in school or making sure she practiced her kendo for the small dojo her parents owned. She felt blessed to have such a quiet life, getting along well with her older sister, Mikan, and feeling like she was rather close to both of her parents. Life for both Mikan and Azuki changed after a series of events led the two of them becoming Puella Magi. For a time, the two functioned as a particularly effective duo, the then 13 year old Azuki and her 16 year old sister kept their town and surrounding areas free of witches with just themselves. Eventually, however, Mikan fell into despair, turning into a witch to be soon defeated by Azuki. This left the girl alone, but somehow unbroken as she hardened her skills and her mind, preparing to fight alone for the rest of her life. Azuki has gone through her regular schooling in her old town, moving to Mitakihara to go to College there, and to get away from an increasing population of Puella in her old place of residence, feeling distaste toward them. Misc: Trivia: * Azuki used to co-own a dojo back at her old town, but gave full ownership to her partner after she left. The dojo taught Niten Ichi-ryuu, the style employed by Miyamoto Musashi. * Azuki can only cook fish and rice, and little variations of the two, though it isn’t like she can’t boil water or use a microwave. * It isn’t all too uncommon to find Azuki in completely random parts of the city, drawing or writing poetry. If you’re lost, she might even draw you a rather accurate map. * Contrary to how tough she acts, pointing out just how bad Azuki’s poetry can be will make her really sad. * Azuki is, however, a rather good artist, especially with sumi-e paintings. * It’s a good thing that, despite Azuki’s wish, she doesn’t unceasingly gain muscles… Abilities and Puella Magi powers: For someone of her size, and even taking muscle mass into account, Azuki is disproportionately and absurdly strong. This is perhaps owed to the fact that she’s a Puella Magi, even if she is strong for even them. Never-the-less, she is an incredibly skilled practitioner of Hyouhou Niten Ichi-ryuu, especially with matters of the sword and two swords wielded together. In hand to hand combat, Azuki employs a mixture of Aikido and Karate to make up for the offensive and defensive weaknesses of both martial arts. Azuki’s Puella Powers are for the most part, like many other Puella, centered on her wish, which was “to become unceasingly stronger [to protect those she loves]”, her weapons of choice are a daishou (a katana and wakizashi pair), named Owari and Hajime, respectively. Owari is seemingly ornate, and rather heavy, but the blade is also absurdly sharp and strong. With the phrase “a samurai’s soul is in his sword” in mind, the sword takes this literally by having Azuki’s soul gem embedded in its pommel, perhaps actually being the reason the sword is so powerful (as it would mean it’s directly empowered by her soul). Hajime is incredibly plain, with a black sheath and black handle, and is slightly shorter than Owari, yet it is much lighter, light enough that it can be carried by normal people, but is also much less sharp. Azuki can employ one of the two swords at a time, or both at the same time, Hajime is used more often as she uses it on familiars and weaker witches. Supplementing her two swords are primarily offensive magics of different types and origins, possibly learned over the years that Azuki has been fighting, or granted so that she could “become stronger”. One of her more notable spells includes being able to extend the range of her swords with magic. Even unarmed and without magic, Azuki is capable of fighting weaker witches with her bare hands. Beyond combat, she is a skilled artist, whereas her poetry is rather horrible. She also seems to be decently good with classical literature and Japanese history. Azuki seems to have distaste for math, and no real knack for science.
--- [Kirino] ---
Version 1, made while I was incredibly sleepy! Please tell me if anything needs to be revised or further explained Name: Octavia V. Zagato aka Ia (Also known as "The Artillery Mage") Species: Human Age: 19 Gender: Female Home world: Mid-Childa Description: Standing at a relatively reasonable height of 5'5", Octavia's most remarkable features are her nearly bio-luminescent blue eyes and her (perhaps unfortunately) eternally messy waist-length (when it's down) hair, which makes her look as if she's just come out of bed in every encounter. Her fashion is relatively normal with a predilection for hair clips and save for almost always wearing some form of lab coat, and her hair is somehow naturally purple. Most unremarkably, her chest is as flat as a board, her eyes are almost constantly in a state of looking bored, even if her lips are smiling and eyebrows are frowning or some other state of facial expression. On other notes, she's a light 117lbs, her "muscles" can be called "squishy", her skin is rather smooth and something to be proud of, her messy hair has never developed an ahoge and her device is normally either a hairclip or a necklace pendant. As a pendant... Her device looks somewhat similar to a USB with a blue crystal sheath. She sports a light blue skirt and a pair of dark grey thigh-high stockings with black boots and light grey laces. Her jacket has accents of light and dark blues, and a few purples. A variety of field generators are placed at her boots, on her wrist cuffs, on the belt of her skirt and on her shoulders. Interestingly enough, she has a pair of cat-ear shaped hair ornaments when in her barrier jacket, they function as rangefinders and targeting assistance modules. Outfit based roughly around this. Additionally, the Barrier Jacket has an add-on equipment mode that adds an Armored Stabilizer set to her outfit, looking like a pair of mechanical wings at her waist, like the ears, they aid in target acquisition with the added benefit of ease of turning with the slightly unwieldy Soul Tracer and recoil reduction, along with added armor benefits. Magic Device: Intelligent Device (Name: Soul Tracer) Favorite Spells:
Name: | Type: | Description: Compressor | Shooting/Bombardment | A rather simple yet versatile spell that compresses down mana into a compact form of varied and controllable degrees of power. These are compacted into the shape of orbs or pellets and can be used to shoot at the enemy like a form of magical grenade, or shot at the ground or specific points in the air to detonate at another time. Inverter | Bind | Octavia creates an unstable orb of opposing energies that collapse and implode into a miniature vacuum, sucking the target closer to it and momentarily stunning them. Objects and people caught inside feel compressed and are unable to move due to gravitational effects and the fact that they're being shocked at the same time. Helix Locker | Barrier | A very fancy name for a very simple beehive barrier, it is ablative in property and is such much more capable against ranged magic than it is against melee attacks. Floater | Transport | A temporary, mana assisted flight that takes the shape of a pair of small blue wings at Octavia's shoulder blades. Flight time depends on how much mana she puts into the spell, and is highly inefficient, making it much better for simply jumping very high then landing softly. Ripper | Melee | Actually part of a device mode, this is the spell construct to create the "bits" that make up the chainsaw bits in Soul Tracer's Ripper Mode Collector | Support | A collection type spell that gathers spent energy in the area to "Refill" some of Octavia's spent cartridges, this takes time and requires her to stand still, and will also effectively light up her position due to the visible culmination of mana.
Personality: Hard to put down into a few words, Octavia is a sort of girl that goes with her own flow. She has a casual way of referring to most people, is polite in some parts of her speech, absurdly lax in others and almost invariably calls anyone of higher rank than her "Boss". If she's reprimanded for such colloquial nomenclature, she will refer to them by their proper rank and name. Apart from how she talks, Octavia seems to stay within her own little world at most times, coming off as aloof and a tad air-headed, yet at the same time she maintains an insight that could only come from someone that is very observant and astutely familiar with other people, which is downright jarring for some. When it comes to "science" or the sciences behind magic, Octavia can be thought to have a few screws loose. She has a small obsession with explosions and making explosions, and an unhealthy attraction for experiments on Devices when they sometimes simply don't need the random "upgrades" she gives them (Soy sauce dispenser and toaster oven for your mid battle egg in a basket? No? How about an under-slung grenade launcher for your sword? Obvious exaggerations). Outward Disposition: With people, Octavia is someone who treats absolutely everyone as if they're familiar, bar none, and for the most part this is how she feels about everyone. However, towards Devices, she may be something to be feared, sort of similar to the strange doctor with a particularly loose set of ethics and morals. The Device Meister has a habit of seeing devices that aren't her dear Soul Tracer (as she advertises him as a "complete product"), as something that can always be perfected and experimented on... Personal History: Messing with... Rather... working with Devices has been something that's run through the Zagoto family for some time now. Born to two rather well-esteemed Device Meisters, Octavia lived a particularly wonderful life of "privilege" in a home attached to a laboratory in Central Mid-Childa where she could practice her seemingly genetic inclination toward the magical sciences. Her parent's profession becoming her own profession and deep interest in life as she learned more and more from them and from books and classes. Where along the line she picked up such a large interest in making things explode or how she attained such a strangely whimsical personality when her parents were esteemed and incredibly well-behaved members of society is completely unknown. However, what is known is that despite her somewhat shady practices at times, when she's given a clear contract on what to do for a device, it is something that will be completed with the utmost precision and perfection. It is with this reason that Octavia became highly recommended amongst the TSAB over simply staying in the private sector her entire life. Something which she embraced wholeheartedly as military grade Devices and military grade laboratory experiments always yielded better explosions... It was once an Earth-like planet made up of 12 continents and 68% water, but is now covered in various overcast of black clouds that rain ash and snow and other signs of heavy pollutants and nuclear winter. Much of the oceans have dried up, or frozen over, most of the land is uninhabitable, and massive "Corruption Edifiers" float above orbit, hovering above massive city-domes, slowly cleaning and attempting to reseed the ruined world. The Fehrdi people are a hardy, if not sometimes grim and fatalistic bunch, living within hab domes with a few residing in the Corruption Edifiers above, their grasp on magic is to a high degree, rivaling that of Contemporary Mid-Childa, though much more similar to that of Ancient Belka. Due to their planet's harsh nature, many normal humans will never see the outside of the Hab Dome, or the natural light of the binary star the planet orbits, and the ones that wish to venture outside are forced to wear thick protective great coats and vapor-masks. With things how they are, Fehrdi has developed a keen sense of interest toward the Cybernetic Sciences, having developed a very firm grasp that far exceeds that of Mid-Childa. As such, there is a sizeably large population of Cyborgs amongst the Fehrdi people, a fact that disturbed the first Investigators sent in from the Bureau as they did not yet know of the planet's technology. To further upset initial investigation, the Fehrdi have a rather rigid military populated by a majority of Combat Cyborgs, raised to fight from cradle to grave, with combat expertise and personalities to match such a profession. As an Administrated world, most of their military has been absorbed by bureau, but left to be mostly autonomous lest they anger the population, something they really don't want to do. A select few have become TSAB agents, usually after a thorough personality and ability screening, as well as various tests to ensure dependability and a willingness to work with off-worlders. The Fehrdi people, while accepting of the TSAB's help, and relatively passive toward the claims to restructure their government for "better management", are still reluctant to give away all of their "Freedoms".
Description: Alternative 1 Alternative 2 Standing at roughly 5'5", Elise's albino features and small, lithe frame at first glance can lead to an incredibly deceptive appearance. With relatively long, shiny, silvery-white hair carrying a blue tint, crimson or maroon eyes and smooth, pale skin, Elise has a somewhat doll-like, serene appearance, especially coupled with her tendency to wear modest, simple clothing when outside her quarters and vaguely stoic expression. Not normally known to others, and definitely never on display to the general peering eyes, she has a barcode and an ID tattooed under her left shoulder blade, and an octagon with a feline like creature inside of it tattooed under her right, marking her as a combat cyborg manufactured and grown from the stasis tubes of Fehrdi. When outside of her quarters, Elise is known to wear her Fehrdi Military Uniform, a black and dark grey ensemble of a jacket over a white dress shirt, with a red skirt. Red stripes are distributed over various parts of her jacket and she wears a pantyhose, with a pair of combat boots to finish it all off. At almost all times, Elise's hair is done up in a pair of twin tails. Also included are a pair of right-angle pyramid shaped hair ornaments that are situated right at the base of her twintails. Magic Device: Rail Blade is Elise's Inherent Equipment in the shape of an oversized claymore or Zweihander with rifle elements to it and a slit down the middle of the blade's width. The Device is actually as heavy as it looks, and can not be lifted by a person of normal strength. While classified as an Inherent Equipment, the Device holds a mundane Artificial Intelligence, making it something of an Intelligent Device rather than a normal IS. Similar in construction to an Armed Device, it also holds a charge system that is fed by batteries, very similar to a cartridge system in that the batteries are shaped like Magazines and can be used to boost magical effects. The programming language is either in German or English and refers to Elise as Frau Kommandant or simply Frau. Both Rail Blade and Elise's Krieg Armor are summoned with a quick Command Phrase: "Krieg winkt." In its storage form, Rail Blade looks like a solid, platinum octohedron. Rail Blade comes in two forms:

Schwertwaffe: Rail's standard mode, where it is used very much like an armed device and swung like a sword, despite having a rifle grip.
Gleisgewehr: Rail's secondary mode, the two halves separated by the split in the middle come apart and slugs are fired

Gleisgewehr subsequently has two modes:

Sanft Modalität: Only pure magic slugs are fired, these are non-lethal in nature and are specifically shaped to stun. When enhanced, slugs from Rail Blade are coated in a barrier made specifically to function within AMF environments.
Hart Modalität: A lethal, Mass Based Weapon form of Gleisgewehr, banned from normal use by TSAB for that very reason. It works by chambering a ferromagnetic, solid slug from a secondary metal block inside a compartmentalized magazine. Through electromagnetic induction produced from the user's magic and the battery, an internal coil is alternated in frequencies sufficient enough to heat the slug to extreme temperatures while still keeping it in the cylinder. A solenoid is then charged fully, propelling plasma out of the gun at extreme velocities while keeping it cohesive through some form of field.

Favorite Spells:
Name: | Type: | Description: Eintlichtsturm | Magic-Enhanced Attack | The most basic of Rail Blade's "spells" is a magically enhanced swing, slash or stab of the blade. The blade is covered in an energetic coat of magic that is meant to forcibly rip through barriers via disrupting their magical make up. Further enhancing the attack is the jettison of energy in the opposite direction of the movement, effectively accelerating Rail into the target Vertilgenschlag | Magic-Enhanced Attack | Similar to Eintlichtsturm, the blade is coated in energy, only this time taking on an electrical and incredibly high energy attribute. Focusing on both igniting and stunning the opponent (or blowing up an inanimate object) rather than increasing the potential to break through a defense, the blade seemingly catches flame and crackles with energy at the same time. On contact, the energy is released into the target in the form of extreme heat and severe shock. Reinigung | Support(?) | Several ports open in the metal sections of Elise's Krieg armor, followed by an outward magical burst of energy that looks like a glowing blue steam being released. This can be used as an emergency room clearer or to repel a grabbing opponent, or it can be focused and used to propel Elise Kampfschild | Barrier/Cage | An octagon shaped barrier that can be extended into a full octahedron, the protection level varies greatly depending on how much mana is put into it. Due to the nature of Fehrdi people, the actual magical theories behind personal barriers is rather weak, making for a somewhat ineffective barrier. Interestingly enough, in its Octahedron shape, Kampfschild can be used to surround an enemy and trap their movement momentarily. Bombeschutz | Barrier | The much more effective, if not exponentially more mana/energy intensive barrier. This one uses the same magical theory put into the shielding of the Habitation Domes, only scaled to a single person's output. Still, it's quite an impressive shield.
Personality: The typical Fehrdi soldier is known to be morose, taciturn, and all too willing to accept sacrifices, even if they themselves are the sacrifice. They're a grim bunch that think almost exclusively of the defense of their homeworld and its history of civil war, and the war that it had also lost against a now-forgotten civilization from another planet. Of these traits, Elise is only taciturn. That is, she's polite and quiet, and really isn't one to waste words on most things. She isn't an incredibly emotional person in the outward sense, and she seems the type to hold quite a good deal of secrets, hers or those of others. Either way, Elise isn't emotionless, and she doesn't carry the fatalistic grimness of other Fehrdi soldiers, which is a large reason why she was able to become a Contract Mage and pass the examinations and screenings that preceded the title. She has a habit of taking the occasional deep breath, and closing her eyes to face upwards so she can open her eyes again and face whatever sky is available at the time, perhaps because the Habitation Domes don't even have an artificial sky to give its citizens a glimpse of what they're missing. Still, her personality is complicated enough that internal struggles and the occasional "girl moment" can occur. Outward Disposition: When it's said that Elise isn't emotionless, this is very much true. While she normally maintains a very passive, even disturbing air of lacking expression toward others, which is a rather common trait amongst the Combat Oriented artificially created humans that make up the Fehrdi Military, she does go through a full range of emotions in her mind, just taking a lot of pushing or "getting to know her" to get her to express said emotions. Needless to say, Elise is actually a very caring person, and is incredibly polite when she can be, and blunt at some other times. In a short description, one could call her the "Quiet Honors Student" Type of girl, or perhaps the kind that would make an excellent "Class Representative". Personal History: Five years of actually being self-aware and alive aren't really much to build any entertaining or strong story on. Elise was "activated" at the age of ten, already having learned many of the basics of life on Fehrdi, as well as the basics of combat through the various programs the Stasis Tubes carried. The next five years after her birth were more advanced things, such as her somehow in-built determination to NOT be on Fehrdi, and the leadership, personal attributes and charisma that were required to take leave from her homeworld. It was reasonably common knowledge to Elise that she was just a genetic construct based on the DNA of some distant progenitor, but having no memories or goals or inheritance from that person, and no real directive in her Hab Dome other than to protect it from nothing in particular and keep the peace, ennui was something that was quickly onset upon her. Quick to learn other tricks that her contemporary allies didn't know, and quick to join an officer program to increase her rank to unlock a few new spells, Elise was well-off and rose high enough to take the TSAB Contracted-Mage Examination, which she passed with exemplary ease. Now stationed away from Fehrdi and away from the guilty rambling and fatalistic grim darkness of her homeworld, the sometimes naive, sometimes off-puttingly stoic Combat Cyborg has been touring the dimensions under marque of the Bureau. Other:

Elise McLaren refers to the Lotus Elise and McLaren Automotive, a high end Sports Car and a Sports Car Manufacturer respectively; furthermore, her homeworld of Fehrdi is a reference to Ferdinand Porsche
