As for "what he meant by that" -- he thinks he's screwed either way because he's in over his head with Kiara, so however Kiara decides to end the night would make no difference in what his situation will be like in the morning.

Which leads us to his sudden character change. He's in a pissy mood (especially if he didn't get any the night before, haha!), so he's being an asshole, just as he was in the very beginning, haha. I probably could have smoothed that over a bit better. This is what I get for writing out part of a post before you've even responded to yours :p
